Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2018 Jeep Cherokee comes in five different trims: Overland, Trailhawk, Limited, Latitude, and Latitude Plus. Each trim level comes with different wheels. The Latitude and Latitude Plus have 17" x 7” aluminum wheels, the Trailhawk has 17.5" x 7” aluminum wheels, and the Limited and Overland have 18" x 7” aluminum wheels, with the Limited wheels being painted and Overland wheels being polished. All models come with fog lamps except for the Overland. The Limited has the widest range of paint colors while the Overland has the least.
Engine (Power)
A 2.4-liter MultiAir engine comes standard on all models except the Overland. The Overland comes with a 3.2-liter V6 24 valve VVT engine with elect stop-start. This 3.2 liter engine is an optional upgrade for every trim level. Heavy duty engine cooling is available on everything except for the Overland and Latitude. Every model comes with a standard nine-speed automatic transmission and auxiliary transmission oil cooler.
Performance
The Trailhawk is the most capable of the five trims at off-roading. It comes with Jeep Active Drive II, Jeep Active Drive Lock, Selec - Speed Crawl Control, locker rear axle, and an off-road suspension. Every other trim comes with Jeep Active Drive I and a normal duty suspension. <br/><br/> Every model of the Cherokee is capable of an estimated 21 city and 30 highway miles per gallon except for the Trailhawk, which averages around 19 city and 25 highway. The fuel tank comes in at 15.8 gallons on all models.
Interior
Each level of trim for the 2018 Jeep Cherokee has different seats. The Latitude, Latitude Plus, and Trailhawk have a combination of cloth, vinyl, and leather seats. The Limited has leather-trimmed seats, and the Overland has premium leather-trimmed seats. The Limited and Overland both have heated front seats. The Limited also offers six different interior colors, the Overland and Latitude have two, while the Trailhawk only offers one. <br/><br/> The Latitude comes with a 5-inch touch-screen display, while all of the other versions come with an 8.4-inch touch screen. The sound system consists of six speakers in every model except for the Overland, which has nine amplified speakers and a subwoofer. GPS navigation is standard in the Overland and optional in the Trailhawk and Limited.
Safety Features
The 2018 Cherokee has advanced multi-stage front airbags, driver and passenger inflatable knee-bolster airbags, supplemental front-seat mounted airbags, supplemental rear seat side airbags, and supplemental side-curtain front and rear airbags across all models to keep you safe. <br/><br/> Every model also has all-speed traction control, electronic stability control, and electronic roll mitigation. Security alarms are only available on the Limited and Overland trims. A ParkView rear backup camera is also standard on each version to keep you from bumping into anything. The Limited also has the additional safety feature of Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist.
