Welcome to our Grand Illumination 2023!

This is the sixth year we will have our light show going.  The 2023 show will be bigger and better. Here are some frequently asked questions we hope you find helpful.

• When does it get BRIGHT?
  • The show runs from the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving until the Second Sunday in January
  • Lights will be on every day from dusk to 10 p.m. 
• How many different songs are there?
  • We currently have over 21 songs synchronized to the lights. We will be adding a few more as the month progresses. It takes a little over an hour for all songs to play. Then it will repeat the list until it is time to go to sleep.
  • If you have a favorite song send an email to lights@princefrederickdodge.com with your suggestion and we will try and add it.
• Where can I watch the lights?
  • We have two areas where you can stand to hear and see the lights.
    • The best view is across Route 4 from our dealership next to Prince Frederick Ford Used Cars. Click here to see a terribly drawn map.
    • In our parking lot of course. Please find a good parking spot and walk up to the front
    • Can I stop on Route 4 to watch?
      • NO! Please do not. If we see this, we will need to turn off the lights. Safety is a priority, plus we must be careful to not impede the flow of traffic on Route 4. 
• How many lights are there and how does it work?
  • Currently, we have over 26,000 lights.
  • There are 1,824 lights in the big tree.
  • There are almost 4,000 lights in the big Train on the left side of the building.
  • 5 large stage spot lights on the roof are synced to music
  • Each light has three colors: Red, Green and Blue.
  • Red, Green, and Blue can be combined to make almost any color in the rainbow.
  • Each light and color can be independently turned on and off.
  • Programming each song can take anywhere from a few hours to over a week. 
• I want to do this to my house can you help me?

• Do I have to pay to watch?
  • Absolutely not, nor do you need to buy a car! But we do encourage you to donate to either of our two favorite groups.
