As with the past year, Dodge has taken more steps to update their signature pickup truck, the Ram. Beyond a new front fascia that replaces the old cross-hatched grille, there will also be some exciting new limited edition models and several alterations to the general trim levels and options. Check out the most exciting updates below to see what makes the 2018 Dodge Ram a versatile choice for every driver.Red Dodge Ram sitting inside with all of the doors open.

Regular Trim Improvements

For 2018, Dodge added a rearview backup camera to every trim level. There is also a remote exterior switch for the LED bed lights within the cargo box, which makes it easier to light up the bed at night if you don’t have a flashlight handy. The mid-level off-roading Ram Rebel also received these updates and a new optional leather interior package. Finally, the 2018 models adopt a new front fascia with a body-color grille and inward-pointing nostrils.

As with the 2017 model, drivers can opt for a larger, 8.4-inch Uconnect touch-screen infotainment system. However, for 2018 it was upgraded with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto device syncing. These systems allow users to operate their phones, tablets, and other devices through the infotainment screen, which is convenient if you prefer the settings, apps, and design of your own Android or Apple device.

Limited Edition Tungsten Models

The Tungsten models are the new standard in high-end Ram trucks, and the most luxurious version of the Ram 1500 and HD made thus far. In addition to the many features coming with the top wide-release trim levels, the Tungsten will have a Light Greystone authentic suede headliner, never seen on any Ram truck in the past.

Underneath the suede headliner, the general cabin is lined with “Natura Plus” Frost and Indigo leather everywhere from the dash and steering wheel to the seats and armrest. There are also rubber floor mats with a matching carpet and special badging.

Limited Edition Harvest Models

The other special edition is the Ram Harvest, a pickup tuned specifically for farm work. It’s available in all three sizes and has a more classic chrome grill, in contrast to the newer grill design on all other models. The Harvest is a more accessible special edition than the Tungsten.

The Harvest has a feature set that’s reasonably comfortable and techy but suited to tough outdoor work. A convenient flip-down step makes it easy to climb in and out of the bed without lowering the tailgate, black tubular side steps help you get in without stepping on the ground, and there are special on-road and off-road tires with unique aluminum wheels and small holes instead of spokes.

Luxury pickup and work-focused truck options have been getting more popular over the past few years, and Dodge has wisely followed popular demand with the exciting limited edition Tungsten and Harvest models. The 2018 Ram is available today, so check out our new Ram inventory and see what you like. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions or would like to know more about your options.
