Where to Hear Live Music in FrederickThe summer is a great time to go out and see live bands and music events. With the winter over and the sun shining, summer is the time to be outside and enjoy the nice weather. In Prince Frederick, Maryland, there are several bars and venues where you can hear live bands and attend concerts.

The Blueside Tavern

The Blueside Tavern is known for having live music events. Every Monday at 7 pm, the Tavern hosts an event called Old-Line Bluegrass Mondays. Admission is free, and this event features live bluegrass music. On other days of the week, other local bands such as Mandy Miller and the Chrome Tears and The Get Right Band play the venue. The Blueside Tavern is a great place to enjoy some live music while relaxing with a beer and some classic comfort food.

Prince Frederick Summer Concert Series

Every Sunday in June, July, and August, Prince Frederick hosts a live music summer concert series. The cost to attend is free, and the music series features a variety of local bands. The concerts feature different types of music, including bluegrass, oldies, latin, and jazz. Country fans can check out Delta Spur, an energetic country cover band on July 30, 2017 starting at 7:30 PM. For jazz music fans, the Boilermaker Jazz Band, performing at 7:30 PM on August 6 is a must see!

Café Nola

For something a bit different, music lovers can check out open mic night at Café Nola. Beginning at 9:30 PM every Monday, live bands and solo artists take the stage at Café Nola to entertain the crowd. To attend this event, you must be aged 21 or older. Café Nola’s open mic night attracts a variety of local singers and bands and features all kinds of different types of music. They also host an event on the third Thursday of every month called Future Sound, which highlights local electronic artists, such as DJs.

Bushwallers

Bushwallers is an Irish pub that serves great food and has live music five days a week. The pub hosts open mic nights on Thursday evenings and usually has a Karaoke night once a week. The other nights are full of a variety of bands and solo artists providing entertainment for the pub. This pub is a great place to go for dinner and drinks while enjoying some quality live entertainment.

The Cellar Door Restaurant and Lounge

The Cellar Door has live acoustic music on Wednesday evenings, and an open mic night on Tuesday nights. This summer, acoustic act Dan McGuire will begin playing at 7:00 PM on Wednesday nights. On Tuesdays, there are a variety of bands and solo singers that play at open mic night, ranging from new artists to well-known local favorites. With so many live music choices, The Cellar Door is a great place to go on any day of the week.
